Advice Wanted for early 1984 Mk2 Gti - nearly the oldest?

    My Mk2 GTi came off the production line on 06.03.84, and was registered on 01.07.84, VIN ending 552883. It has done 109,000 miles and is still on the road. I will need to start replacing some more parts soon, due to old age, and might need to clean out the Engine Bay.
    Does anyone have any advice on sourcing parts, preferably genuine VAG parts, and a good place to go for refurb work?

    generally i look up the part number and try ebay /google to see what comes up , sometimes get lucky with nos parts
