    Hi.

I need a battery tray. I would rather buy the VW OEM unit but you would need to give me a 50% discount!;)lol

So what news? I ticked the e-mail me when available box on your website a few weeks ago, and I check every other day, but nothing yet!

    Regards,
    Dave.

    Hi Dave,

The manufacturer has been out of stock of these for a while now, we keep ordering, but for the time being the stock is not there for them to send to us.
So, sadly (due to cost), it's the Genuine ones which are due in early June, or second hand (ie. someone bought a repro one and no longer needs it) or a waiting game until these become available again.

Sorry it's not the news you wanted.

Dave, you could go round a scrappy and cut one out. Or speak to Mal c, he's always got a shell lying about that he's breaking

    Thanks Tom.

If I can avoid it I don't want to go to the trouble of trying to get a rust free 2nd hand one.
    If they actually exist?

It will be a lot of work to remove it cleanly to permit plug welding on to the chassis.

    Regards,
    Dave

    Thanks Martin.

It's just a lot of cash for 500 gm. of steel! I have found an aftermarket one for 28 at 'carbodypanels4u.co.uk'. I recon. I can do a good enough job even if it is not perfect.

The thing is that I really want to sort the Golf on a budget as I what is more important is to get the Audi 90 20V Q back on the road and big money will be necessary for that!
The Audi is a really super car to drive and, to my mind, the best car Audi have ever built. Just a shame it has 4 doors, but I shall be welding up the rer doors anyway!;)

    Regards,
    Dave.

Hi Guys, We should have them early August.
If you haven't already call / order online to reserve them in case stocks are limited. I have asked our purchasing team to order extra in case of high demand (due to them being unavailable for a few months) but that won't be guaranteed.

    Ta so Andy.

I have now arranged to buy an OEM panel from a CGTI member, but I am sure others will be grateful for your efforts.

    Kind regards,
    Dave.
