    Hello everyone,

it's been a little while I'm blocking on the end of the swap 1.8L T. the wiring loom is plugged everything is ok. on the other hand where I block these for the alternator. is it necessary to have the dashboard connected to trigger the exciter? I have a golf counter 3 with 2 conection behind but when I plug it there just the needle that moves a little as if there was a pulse.

the wiring loom was done at dubforce tuning.

I hope you will come to understand me I use google translation

yes you need the dash clocks fitted, there is a blue wire from this which needs to go to the alternator pin L or D+ (either is used, just depends how old the alternator is)

on a mk2 golf the blue wire goes to a white plug near the battery, on the mk3 its a smaller black plug near the starter motor

Merci encore :)

the ECU wire to alternator is for pin 'DFM' and does not affect alternator exciter.

To get the alternator to charge what you need is connect the blue wire from the original headlight/engine loom (you don't say what car this is?) from fusebox C/2, A2/1 or F/3 to the alternator pin L or D+. Which pin it is depends what fusebox and what car you have. This may help:

as for clocks, the 20v engine can work with mk1, mk2 and mk3 clocks, what you use is up to you. For mk1/2 clocks you need an adaptor for the tachometer, and a 1.0-1.3 speedometer cable. MK3 clocks will work with the ECU tachometer signal direct, as well as the mk4 golf speedometer sender.

To fit mk3 clocks into a MK2 golf with CE2 fusebox you need to run an ignition live to fusebox E/2, this is fed by D/8 on the MK3 donor. Then there is 1 or 2 plugs for extra feeds. The purple/white wire is the MPG signal from the ECU, you can try to hook this up to the MK4 golf ecu some say it works fine and some say it does not. The other 2 wires are black/green and black/white, these need connecting to the left and right indicator wires. In the MK3 the mating plug connects to A1/2 and A2/4.

    This is a MK2 1.3L 1989 Phase 1

sorry thats a spelling error, should have been 'mating'

on the mk3 golf there is a 2 or 3 pin plug which is connected to A1/2 and A2/4, for the indicator wires to the clocks. You could go into the indicator stalk wires, or the wires for the rear indicators if its easier for you

voici ce que j'ai réussi à trouver dans le cars cimetière. there are also pictures of the wiring loom that dubforcetuning did

Yes the MK2 and MK3 pins on A2 and F plugs both come back to the same common pin on the dashboard harness so either pin can be used for both mk2 or mk3 clocks. If the battery warnign light comes on with ignition then goes out when engine is started then everything is OK :)

okay thanks, though if i want to plug in the mk3 dashboard, to make live lighting connection how i can know which wires these, as it's not me who did the wiring loom, i do not know not what are the wires connected to the white plugs, I think it would be easier for me to use a mk2 dashboard ^^ '
