Just curious to see how many Old Skool in the house? This particular volume of Renaissance is mistaken for a later edition by the same duo on the decks. It's limited edition and I've had mine for many, many years and listen to at least one track per day. Definitely my all time favourite Video results for Renaissance
Im a big fan of the older Renaissance stuff. One of the original residents is one of my best mates and also one of my resident DJs for some of the nights i put on, he also mixed one of the most sought after Renaidsance mixes, (VOLUME 1) his name is IAN OSSIA Got loads of his mixes and all the ones from sets he has played at my events, a great DJ Iv also got all the tunes in my record collection
ill have to re upload some of his (Ian Ossias) mixes, he is one of my best pals, He and Jon Da Silva (Hacienda) were my residents ant many of my events, Ian still is at my classics partys, Jon now resides in Sweeden. Ian is such a top bloke and he should be still doing the rounds today, unfortunatly family problems and sasha getting jelous made him leave Renaissance. He was one of the DJs that helped start it and i have many storys on the promoter and antics that went on behind the scene hehe the 90's were a special special time, i could sit on here talking about it forever, i am very passionate about my music / events and my dj work..
I'm out of touch with it all now Kells. If you hear of any old skool parties worth attending, could you let me know. I have a really old friend who lives in Somerset that usually goes 90's bashes with me, haven't been for years, so would be special
Sure matey, im actually planning one for this year, it will be a "Back to the old JOY" event, iv put a 3.5 hour mix up in this section, but Ian Ossia will be playing at this event and he plays all the old Renaissance stuff, their will be other djs from the 90's on too, my old skool residents are djs suce as Luvdup, DJ SY, VERTIGO, Jon Da Silva, also had Altern 8 play a few times plus djs like stu allen etc. they are good partys with a good vibe The Joy brtand is now techno but when it started it was house, hence the "Back to the old Joy" tag :-)
Yeah like that stuff very much and like stu allen , have loads of old skool sets in mp3 format on my phone and tapes of his stuff , interesting mixing style I have been d.j`ing since those days and help run a drum and bass night and i am a resident dj, never get bored of tunes and playing out , but only really play this stuff at house parties now
nice one pal, i guess we are on the same page, i cutrrently play this stuff in the clubs at some of my own evnts, then techno and also electo I own the JOY brand which is quite a well (and internationally) recognised brand @geordiegar At the Warehouse ?
2002, homelands festival in winchester. sasha oneside of the tent, digweed the other back to back for two hours. Probably the best festival set I have ever heard, totally totally awesome* *the drugs were a lot better back then too mind
Feck, by 2002 I had retired from the shape chuckin game..........long time retired, like a decade! I did seem to have a lot of colds back in the late 80s and early 90s. Well that's my excuse for reeking of Vicks.
Did anyone watch that documentary last night about Ecstasy? 9PM on BBC3. It was absolutely fascinating!! Kells, Be sure to give me notice regarding that event, I'd really appreciate it
How Drugs Work, Ecstasy I know what you're saying Jon. It gave the view from all angles though. There was a part that focused on the late 80's and early 90's about the introduction and also the views of some DJ's around the same era. The link is above if you want to fast forward the boring bits but the entire programme is really worth a watch.
