Autocar raving about the Scirocco R

    "Pound for pound the best front wheel drive performance car we drove last year"

    There's a 'Best 10 cars' feature.

    The Focus RS and Megane aren't in it, and are mentioned in the Scirocco article, with the Scirocco clearly on top.

    The make this judgement on a DSG car though, saying how good it is. Without it, it's not the same.

    sounds good, saw a Focus RS on the road the other day in black (i think? was going pretty quick) damn the thing had some road presence. Genuinely, got the same excitement as used to get seeing a cossie fly by

    Their words, not mine. They said how fantastic the DSG gearbox is.

    Still.... you could always modify it up to that spec.... :lol:

    Aye, i'm a big fan of the DSG, but not enough of a fan of the price to actually spec it. . . ;)

    We have DSG on the MK2 TT and id prefer a manual for 'proper' driving.

    I suspect they like the mid-corner seamless up changes, which don't affect the balance of the car.

    ^^^ nice, just wish it was more coupe shape than hatchback. Those wheels look better in the flesh
