Back seat release cables broken

    Can anyone help, both cables are broken and I can't see a way to release the backrest.

    You will have to release the latches manually @ the rear of the seat.

    Yes, go from the boot and flick the hook up with your finger or a screwdriver.

    Did know you could buy them anymore ?one of my 2 doors had the broken ones joined together with electrical chocolate connectors,crude but it worked.

    Yeah I got a pair of used ones from Vosswagen, but there is guy in Greece with lots of new old stock, I got a genuine golf ball gear knob from him cheaper than a repro

    Since found a site called vwclassic that had new ones in stock they are the only people offering these ,weren't too expensive really.
    Yes I have dealt with the guy in Greece he has some nice stuff.

    The only issue with the guy in Greece is that he has to charge such high delivery :(
    Not too bad if putting in a decent sized order

    what type of seat is it you have, some are available from VW still, GSF used to do them back in the day too. ifg the guy in greece can get them, then classic parts probably have stock which means uk stockist such as deutche-parts or vw heritage can probably get them as well
