 <<< this face says so many words lol

Thanks to people that cleared that up for me. I understand now, there to improve the roll center which is what ive lost from going low.

So if your feeling bump steer from bump toe in can't you just just lower it alittle bit more so it transfers to bump toe out, Guess that might then distroy the roll center you've just sorted out lol, but thought there might be a magic level where bump steer is sorted but doesn't affect roll center to much (just thinking out loud really)

As for making a model up of it can't it be worked out on paper?

Where is everyone buying these from? and they only for mk1s?

The track rod ends are from Compbrake but as Micky said you can get Aurara rod ends that fit (and are probably cheaper).

The extenders came via a group buy from the states - Dave Stone at PMWLtd. If getting the extenders suggest you get them made slightly longer than the default 1.5 inches.

Aurara m14 female rose jonts are cheeper than compbrake ends. my complete kit with all fixings, misalignment spacers and dust covers worked out about 75. and is defo worth doing compared to fliped standard track rod ends.

my cars much better to drive, still a bit twitch on bumpy roads at speed but think thats mainly down to the amount of power i'm trying to put down and diff. it's not perfect but a vast improvment.

I have just fitted my ball joint extenders, flipped my track rod ends using the aurora rose joints. Now the track rods are tight against the anti roll bar. Has anyone else had a problem like this? My car is a golf Rallye.

    Please help

Is your front anti roll bar upside down? Because the pic shown on this page is of a mk2 and shows plenty of clearance.

I don't think so, but will double check. Is it possible to fit the anti roll bar upside down, I think the anti roll bar would end up under the wishbones? I think the mk2 pic is running wide track, would this make the difference?

    Thanks for the reply.

I have seen it upside down on a lowered mk2 and the standard tie rods were making contact with the ARB on bumps. So fully possible.

Thanks for the pic, I will have a look tonight. It does look like I must have fitted it upside down. Can I get away with supporting the engine & just undoing the back four subframe bolts to swap the anti roll bar round?

    Thanks Richard

if it cost 75 your just as well buying the compbrake items as they'r 75 anyway and that's off ebay

Has anyone used these ball joint extenders with larger dia discs eg 300mm +, I've found the rubber from the lower ball joint touches the disc [:s]

surley the disc would hit the boot higher up the disc if it wasn't there?

has the anything else been fitted at the same time?

I can confirm, I've seemed to of eliminated Bumpsteer from my own vehicle with these fitted, not able to test it correctly with exact measurments (minutes of degrees) until late Sept
