Cleaning the offside chassis rail and found that the black fuel pipe has a nasty split. Not what you want when it’s 20cm from a hot manifold. Is this the feed or return and is it still available? BACFDD86-24F8-4EED-8CCD-77F70E03018C.jpeg

Is that outside rubber just a sheathing over a pipe underneath? If so I might be okay, although any fuel pipe is worry...

I think it's feed? Mine were like that underneath the car, had to get the angle grinder and cut off that rusty swage, then just used new fuel hose and Oetiker clamps to hold it on

Yep its feed for sure. I wonder if I can get the genuine VW part (although I cannot separate it from the main filter to engine bay feed at the mo anyway!

yep thats the right part number, mk2 8v and 16v kjet hoses are the same plus corrado 1.8 16v will do you fine. says the 9a one is different but might work still not sure off hand the metering head orientation so double check the part if thats where its from. I know the injector lines are different but I did manage to get 9a lines on my KR cabrio with some extremely careful bending

That is great, I got one on ebay new.
Wish I could get the thing separated from the feed pipe though!
I wonder if that feed pipe is still available, just in case I cannot get them separated.
How come its just got a rubber sheathing? is the plastic pipe underneath the actual pipe?

those can be pretty tight, luckily you dont care about the feed line as its already split so chop it and slip up a ring spanner to hold the main line and you can use a 6 point socket on the metering head side

rubber is just there to help protect the line from abrasion
