Wow. That seems low. What does standard Corrado weigh?

@ 16valver, think the corrado weighs over 1,100kgs in standard form.
Spent good bit of time in weight saving mode :) I recon the alloy block
of the Honda engine helped nice bit aswell

And this weight was taken taken off a professinal corner weight scales

Just checked the first post - good to now have it all in a list with the links.

Think mine will now be heavier than it was before with the extra cage and turbo gubbins :(

Very, very light for a Mk2. What's the spec?

    Once was a MK2 Gti 8v

Chromoly 6 point cage that extends to the front of the car, everything forward of the fire wall has been removed,

Usual tar removal inside and out
Sun roof removed, ali panel in replacement
Lexan windows all round (except front screen)
    1 Piece Fibreglass front end
    Spare wheel well removed
    Rear Bumper Removed
Bogart Billetlight Wheels (not sure on the individual weight but you could carry all 4 at once)

hopefully before the season starts i will have Carbon Doors, Tailgate and Roof and will have made a new rear axel out of chromoly, that should get me into the 600kg's

ohh was weighted at the European Finals at Santa Pod on the FIA scales that weight the top fuel cars

    All becomes clear!

Do you have pics of the whole car? Shall we split it into a Members Motors thread?

    Quite an interesting one!

No, never got round to getting it weighed :(

I will never know for sure, but I think it may be a bit heavier as I will have put more back in than I removed overall.

I still have a lot I can lose through lighter panels. Even though the wings and boot are fibreglass, they are very heavy compared to other fibreglass/carbon panels I have seen.

I hope to be just over the 800 mark but in very high 700's with new panels (eventually!).

In the meantime, it will still be a much quicker car than it was - I hope!

Mk2 ibiza 16V - 961kg with half tank fuel so approx 940-950kg dry. Retains heater, full dash, electric windows and mirrors.

Estimate 5kg coming out over winter (mainly the last of the unused wiring and more metal out of the front crossmember).

My Mk1 20vT came in at 895kg on Oultons scales a couple of weeks ago, pretty much full of fuel - I wasn't in it. Stripped interior - no carpet or tar, alloy cage [xx(] Airbox/heater removed, still got full glass.
    I was a bit gutted tbh! [:^(]
    Holesaw at the ready!

ally when you saw my White rado at knockhill that was under 950, standard glass and panels, no powersteering etc and fully stripped. Been rebuilt again at the moment and am hoping for 910 with glass and underseal, so don't think 895 is beyond acheivably especially with an alloy block.

Hi! Finally i've weighted my Mk3:

    Stripped 2.0 16v 5 doors
    sparco seats
    Stock wheels
    lightweight battery
    8 points roll cage
    no fuel
    no driver

    330kg 331kg

    179kg 182kg

    1022 kg

Good result i think with no fiberglass at all :-)
