try using dax hair wax or black and white hair wax (if you have ever tried getting either out of your hair, then you will know how hard wearing it its) just a thought.

i use copper grease and sometimes cling film them.

If you have lost your adjuster key. Get a ribbon oil filter wrench. This will allow you to adjust the height on even rusted threads! + it doesnt damage the coiliovers [:D]

Anyone tried Dinitrol? Or that Korrosionshutzfett stuff? I'd think they'd both stay put pretty well.

Grease will start to hold dirt eventually so no good...

Gaffa tape or Elephant tape on new ones, will keep them brand new underneath, just take off and re-wrap every year or so!

seems a little bit obvious, but even if you just adjust them a little then put them back straight away say every 3 months whilst spraying some WD40 would stop them seizng as well as stuff mentioned wouldnt it?

Yep, found some in Halfrauds (someone mentioned this somewhere).

All still in there, tank taped up, so fingers crossed it's doing the job.

Probably not much help now, but my stainless FK coilovers adjust very easily even after two years! Trust me it's the way forward, don't need to mess about with any gunk then.:) :)

guys all these answers, white grease, chain oil, clingfilm, gaffa tape etc im jut wondering now if i shoult bother buying a coilover kit, surely the idea of the kit is to be adjusable, this thread has realy put me off and thanks to it you guys have saved me alot of money,i no the other reason for coilovers is so you can fit bigger or wider wheels but im on 195/50/15 and the car handles like a dream with my spax 60mm lowering kit,the reason i wanted the coilovers is to just lift the back end up a little so it wont rub when i have passengers but after reading all that ill prob just get 400mm springs for the back

wasn't aware coilovers allow bigger wheels?....

it wouldn't put me off them, you just need to be aware that they take a bit of looking after. spraying them with bike lube isn't the biggest chore in the world is it?
