Corrosion on inlet of cylinder head

    Noticed yesterday that there was corrosion and kind of like dust on the inlet of the cylinder head on the engine I'm planning on fitting to my golf it's a dx which has had a replacement Mexican head put on at some point its the inlet closest to the cam pulley.

    sounds like standard alloy corrosion, buff it all back so long as its not heavily pitted you're fine. only the seal faces need to be perfectly smooth though. post pics?

    Cleaned that up with my finger the old lump is out now

    Finally managed to get it started today been busy in work and had a few minor setbacks but it runs well sounds completely different to my old engine nice and responsive aswell just need to put front end on and connect drive shafts
