Good job you were out when I called round, may have been less complete as I need a clip for my engine cover.

Rolling road didnt work out, they forgot i was coming and didn't turn up.. so f those guys, never going there again.

Driveshaft bolts came out ont he n/s when driving the other day so i pooped myself a little, thinking the gearbox had shit itself!

luckily i keep tools in the car and was able to tighten them back up at the side of the road.

I thought i had Locktighted them but obviously not! so i'll have to re-do them asap...problem being the universal joint on my jack has broken, so i cant raise the car now haha!

Omg, that's terribly unprofessional of the RR guys.

I've never loctited driveshaft bolts? Just rechecked after a drive.

its a bit weird as they were done up very tight, but vibrations must have worked them loose.

Bad show on the dyno company, not good at all.
Lucky with driveshaft, when I did my swap when I bolted the cvs up I thought bolts were very tight, I'd used a 75mm spline on extension bars, but when came to undo them again to fit other shafts I had the 800mm spline and was quite surprised at how loose the bolts seemed, put it down to the angle the shorter tool needed to clear cv boot.
May also have had a bit of grease in the hole that's caused hydraulicing and feels tighter than was as it compressed?

    Long time, no update.

i had to recently re-build the BBS wheels as i went a lighter colour. Turned out one of the barrels got buckled somewhere along the refurb line, so i ordered a new one and its been powdercoated. I built up the wheel last night and its ready to seal.

I'm booked into the lateBrakeShow somerset show on the 11th, so id love to have it ready for then if possible! its only show in 2-3 years!

It was a good little gathering! Dave was there with his R32 and there was a 20v white small bumper.

What did you come down in?

I'm sure our paths probably crossed but we didn't know it  I did chat to the R32 owner though, nice bloke.

Left the Mk2 at home, got a lift in my bro-in-laws Vantage (the grey V12). Great day complete with Plato doodling a knob in my copy of his autobiography

    little update.

Clutch has been a bit weird for a while, seems to conly come back up about 80% of the way, so i took friday afternoon to bleed it as much as humanly possible. Removed the slave, elevated it and bled it.. im confident that its ok. What 'm thinking is that the return spring on pedal box is not doing its job properly? at least i think theres a return spring on the clutch.

I'm going to relace the rad as its a bit battered from going in and out so many times over the years. Need to find one with a solid top and not open fins. i think i just have a 16v rad at the moment, inlet and outlet ports on the off side (drivers) to keep it all looking neat and tidy. Not keen on VR6 layout. i'll likly replace the pipes for a slightly altered layout that allows me to use the cover on the inlet plenum that the 1.8t's use, it holds the dipstick in place too.

Another thing to change will be the rad pipes into the car from the engine, they have always been so rigid, maybe its age... but i'd like something a bit more flexible and able to route it a bit better.
