I think if I had got smoked it would be OK, actually just remembered I've got a can of spray tint, shame it's just started raining.

Well I've been ticking the jobs you always put off today.
    20221002_175922.jpg
Clutch slave cylinder replaced with a polo one which matches the t5 master, new custom braided hose with push fitting and all bled. 20221002_114535.jpg 20221002_114605.jpg

While in the area I've also swapped in the tt fwd 5 speed shift weight to the o2j gearbox, which gives a much shorter throw. 20221002_113908.jpg

Fitted the proper black sunroof handle rather than the sprayed original cream one.

Also fitted the eibach anti roll bar on the rear, but was missing one bolt, trailed several shops on a Sunday afternoon to eventually find one, m10x100, which was a lot more expensive than figured, new set of laminate flooring for the dining room included! IMG-20221002-WA0001.jpeg

Rear screen has been changed with the help of my wonderful wife for the gti one with spoiler which I bought back in the summer, car is looking as I've planned, let's hope that whoever takes it off my hands will be pleased. 20221002_180247.jpg

Looking good. I need to find the O2J shifter parts to swap mine over as the O2A is a bit sloppy

I'll see if can find anything in a few weeks, I'm out and about on the 20th, I'll look for a tower, and try and get them to split.

Not been on much lately, life has been hectic, daughters wedding, house stuff, up and down twice to Somerset over the weekend, covid hitting the house and other projects going on besides work plus a few bits personally for us.

Anyway, golf has been sat on the drive and awaiting the clutch mechanism bits to arrive, replaced the slave and then had a leak on one banjo, so new crush washers acquired, and fitted a clutch return spring from a classic mini to the pedal end, hole drilled in pedal and a mount plate made to attach it to the bracket, sorted.
Fingers crossed its going this week to it's new home reasonably local so I'll probably be seeing it again soon.

So, next it will be time to do some more bits on the polo, but may put that up for sale too soon, future plans etc. Either as it is, 1.8t separate, or swapped in, I'm unsure .
We're not planning on replacing the golf with another car, or van, need some space and less clutter.
Sad to see it go, but I prefer building stuff, and usually have other things planned, was an absolute blast.

 it will be sad loss but I'm sure the new owner will love it.
Onwards and upwards and you are right, often the journey is more interesting than the destination.

It's rain, not tears dampening the drive.
The golf has gone to a good home, will miss it.

Yeah, didn't cry like when sold my mini van.
Guy that bought it just messaged and said it was interesting in the standard Yorkshire rain on his trip home.
Will give us space, no new project plans, so can get on with the polo and mg soon.

Haha, suppose could get a bike rack up each side of the driveway, but it's more stuff to move if plans come to fruition.

Well, had a message a couple of days ago, new owner has temporarily killed the golf, possibly turbo, or head gasket from his description, although his recovery driver diagnosed it as water pump failure.

Sounds like it's being (or was) driven with appropriate 'spirit' then :)

It's one of those cars that begs you to press the pedal for big smiles
