Hello there, one thing I have not been able to find on my various electrical website surfing is proper non-insulated, dual crimp ring terminals with 6mm stud/hole, that take a decent gauge of wire. e.g. for fusebox wires to battery. MK4 style with included nut would be nice too if you can get those

I've found a few AMP/TE numbers which might be what I need:

but no UK stock anywhere :(

    Hi John,

Sorry about the radio silence. Been up to my ears but now turning attention to this forum as I have this dedicated section.

The sort of terminals you're talking about are available and in a wide variety of configurations ( including the type with the nut attached) to suit a range of cable sizes but a min. order qty would apply as I don't normally stock them. Let me know what you're after from this catalogue (I think pages 106 and 117 would be of particular interest) and I'll see what I can do.

For larger cable sizes (over about 6mm2, which is the max. size for pre-insulated terminals) most opt for open end or copper tube terminals. Although these are only single crimp there's no chance of them coming off made correctly with the right tools (especially if using a hex crimper). The insulation isn't supported by a 2nd crimp but with larger size cables the conductor is generally strong enough to support the weight without any damage. I always use heat shrink over the crimp anyway which adds some support and corrosion resistance (you could go for adhesive lined shrink sleeving which is stronger and would give even more support). We always have stocks of open end or copper tube terminals and shrink sleeving.

    Best regards,
    Paul
