This weeks Autocar, new Audi SQ7.

4L twin turbo diesel, but additionally, upstream of turbos on the inlet side of head, a supplimentary electric motor driven induction compressor that can be spun upto 70,000 rpm in 0.25 secs. Giving enough boost pressure to make 664lbft torque at only 1000rpm.

    WOW.

No doubt helped by the cars 48V electric system....

Also...active anti roll bars, based on torque/roll resistance from electric motors (max 885lbft) that actually decouple on flat ish roads to recharge the lithium ion battery system....

    WOW.

    Technology.

Yep, brushless motor technology has come a long way. Off Road RC cars can be lightning fast @ 3kg, so the new generation motors and speed controllers can pack a ounch drawing 200A @ 12V and spin very fast with the torque to match. So at 48V, it's going to really go hard!

    Yup.

Same base engine in the sister platform, the new Bentley Bentayga TDI.

It is the same principle on the 313bhp 3.0 V6 TDI as fitted in the SQ5, RS5 Concept and A6.
