Faint MFA LCD Display brought back to new.

    My LCD was really faint. Could still read it but was fading. Locked in the house with my dash out anyway for a heater box refurb I thought I’d go in and have a look. Unfortunately you do have to strip the clocks right back to the bare bones cos the LCD is buried right in the heart of everything but when I did I found that the PCB contact points for the display were a dull matt grey with what I presume is some sort of oxidation. Cleaned them up with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud until they were nice and shiny silver again, reassembled, plugged in and it’s like new again. Well chuffed!

    This is the board with bottom set cleaned up and the top ones as they were. See the difference?

    Simple thing but will buzz off that every time I look at it.
