Does anyone know if clutch pushrod seal is the only way oil can get into to the back end of gearbox? I have a leak that appears to be from the the green vw stamped cover. The baffling thing is it is completely clean fresh oil. Now it did have a lot of work done by a garage for previous ( very rich) owner but then immediately went into storage for 2 years. So I wonder if the fresh oil has seeped out through pushrod seal and built up behind the cover. I have done about 1000 miles so surely the oil would look dirty by now?

No carbon , so the oil takes years and years to darken. I've seen the green covers leaking .

Hi Tristan, but from what I can work out, there should not be oil in that end unless a seal gone on pushrod?

Yeah someone else on here said there shouldnt be oil in that bit, but I just undone the filler hole and shoved 250 mil in, so guess the green cap is leaking. Also can see a gear through the hole
