Hi, Anyone know where i can locate a genuine 8v gti mk2 thermostat from? I have found in the past genuine ones behave so much better than the repro ones! CHeers, Mike
Um, VW? I always get them from the local dealer. It's a very common stat, used across a huge range of VW engines, up to the mk4 iirc.
Ah that’s interesting - last time I asked at the mai dealer , they said they weren’t available anymore! I’ll give them another go
make sure you buy a new housign as well, your old one will probably be warped. VW still have these as well 055121121F at 10.50+VAT. Seal is 038121119B at 3.68+VAT and stat is 044121113 at 23.42+VAT. Look up local TPS branches, if they're willing to deal with the public you'll get a bit off the VW price
