Dave your Google-fu (or bing-fu, yahoo-fu, altavista-fu?) is impressive. Not cheap as you say but probably cheaper than getting the gear to make up your own plates, as I had considered after fruitless searches. Cheers!
Just to add to my search stuff, there is a thread on retro rides with pictures of dealer stickers and plates, not vag specific but may have some useful info if need replica artwork. https://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/139897/dealer-stickers-got?page=6
oohhh @dodgy would you mind looking up dealers for mine WJL - Corrado, think it is Lincs LNH - Golf mk2 XJR - Golf mk3
But to keep you in suspense... WJL Lincoln LNH Northampton XJR Newcastle upon Tyne I'll check dealer list which is at home tonight buddy.
When I get 5 minutes I will attempt to scan the list or at least photograph the whole lot, may be help to you all, its 1991 so around the era most useful.
Sorry not had a chance to get the info scanned, printer at home is kaput. But, came across this earlier, may be an avenue if after period plates... https://www.360-gt.com/dealer-plates Not sure if shared before by anyone, didn't look familiar, apologies if has been.
