So with a lot more time at home I'm getting on with fixing a gearbox noise I've had for a while but never got round to fixing.

When installing the quaife I noticed that 3rd gear had some notches on the inside of the gear where the needle bearings sit. I didn't have a doner gearbox at the time so rebuilt the box and of course still had a rattle.

So I've got another gearbox with the same gear ratios as mine to swap out 3rd gear and make it nice and quiet again. I must say the gearbox still looks as nice inside as when I put it together last so happy all is working well.

Do you think the brake ducts made much of a difference?

Yes they do, I havent got the brakes anywhere near fading since fitting them.

Albeit I have run 312mm discs since fitting the ducts as they were the 288mm discs originally. This will make a difference with a larger disc also.

Yep, being collected on sunday. So still have a few days to say goodbye.

My boys are at an age now where they need more time and in a few years they will be old enough to help me build something new.
