Dusted off my search skills, maybe I'm a bit rusty as I can't find anything on transplanting a Golf R into a Corrado or a MK2 Golf.

Could you point me towards anyone that has done it, is anyone in the middle of doing it or are there threads on the go discussing and developing the idea.

It's a genuine interest, plan to adapt the modern drivetrain along with all the tricks and gadgets into the super cool coupe!

That's an entirely massive project tbh, one that would be quite rare anywhere I'd imagine. The wiring along would put most people off. Plus trying to find an R cheap enough to just it.
There is a group on FB, TFSI MK1 or Mk2, there's possibly more information there.

    There’s a guy putting a Golf R into a Mini.

What’s the reasoning for it? Aren’t they just a TFSI engine and updated Haldex?

Ah okay, I’ve never looked into them. They’re too common for me to be interested

Thanks for that, it's very early days of research. It would be the EA888 engine and it has to be a manual, adaptive suspension desirable but not vital. Need an almost complete car, with as low miles as possible. Major chassis fabrication, bespoke charge cooler and exhaust and undoubtedly a lot of work.

There is really good work on the VWROC forum putting an R into a MK1 Golf

Not quite an R, just a 2wd with AXX with DSG, but once I have it all running properly and I find some money, then I'll look to swap it for CDL and maybe look to go 4wd

    BHZ / CDL - 265 PS
    BWJ - 240 PS ( Seat Leon )
    BYD - 230 PS ( ED 30 )

All these are basically the same engine ( engine internals ) ... from EA113 platform
