Relatively new here and by no means a mechanic! I want to start servicing my old Mk4 Golf PD130 so I can get hands-on and learn the basics.

About to order a few bits for the service and noticed there are 2 variants of fuel filter available (link to Opie site), heated and non-heated.

Is a heated fuel filter really only necessary in extreme low temps or would it still be beneficial even in UK winters at lows of around -5?

Also I'm guessing if I don't have a heated filter as standard and wanted to install one it would require some time of junior power timer plug and wiring up?

    Cheers,
    Jake.

Phone tps and order one from there they will know what one it has.
I wouldn't bother trying to fit heated filter if it hasn't got one
