I will remove the driver's door bar for daily use if it intrudes more than the seat does already. Only bolt in at the end of the day.

I might be interested in that day. Know they don't come up that often and wouldn';t mind ticking it off my list, seeing what its like. I imagine it to be a bit like Goodwood.

was a few years back now, but i knocked half a second off my astras quater mile by gutting the interior. took out just over 100 kilos and dropped from a 15.4 to high 14's. same engine spec.

pays dividends slowing the car too. can get away with lesser brakes.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, threads a bit long!

But you could always run your car with an empty then full fuel tank, obvoiusly + 50 Kg is slightly different to - 50 Kg proportionally, but surely it'd give you an idea of what to expect.

They just enable you to set the car up to achieve? a 50/50 weight distribution but you need two people the same weight one to sit in the car and one to do the adjustments.

I'd be interested on how this effects a stripped mk1's handling because the tank isback therewhere all the weight has beenlost.

no of course not, that doesnt really help if the driver is 20 stone & the technician is an 8 stone stick boy! ;)

You could of course take up 2 guys expensive time or indeed stay sat in the car ya self But easiest done by telling the guys your weight & they plonk it on the driver seat & then corner weight it.

Of course its all then pretty messed up when you take a lardy passenger out on track fora ride anyway!

Cant quite get my head round track folks who spend say 700 on Koni coilies, 100 or so to fit, 50 on track & camber set up & dont spend the extra 100 or so on getting it corner weighted?

Bit like having kylie as yr bird & not doing doggie, kind of a waste of the equipment 'eh?

One seat one driver, No Passenger, A bit pointless owning a set of scales then employing a bloke to come sit in your car. :)

Can`t be bothered to read the whole thread again, so can`t remember the main reason for stripping the car.

If its just for track days, surely half of the fun is having a
terrified passenger in the car, either egging you on, or screaming for
    mercy.[xx(]

So i`d say corner weighting doesn`t really matter unless your competing in a championship.

At the ring we did a few laps 4 up, not helping the weight of the car, but they were definately entertaining laps!
