it dont sound like its worth the hassle of stripping your car gary if you do a regular 300 mile trip and all you gain is 2sec per lap if you had a 2nd car then fury muff do it but you said it is your one and only car and you are getting old

Gary i think you have your answer now..........Dont bother [:$]if it's going to be your only car & because your doing that kind of driving to Clair's etc & for the sake of a second or so you'll go mad with the racket ......anyway you seem to be having enough fun from it on track as it is.

I use a standard fuel tank in my Mk1 and brim it at the start of every race for ballast - the weight is in the perfect place if you have to carry it somewhere and we have a minimum weight of 790KG.

Just had my car corner weighted, we put slightly more weight over the offside front wheel to help traction through right hand bends. I haven't driven it enough yet to comment on the difference it makes.

    gary, try a carbon bonnet.

it's a lot of wight to save, in the right place. i.e. the front.

it won't affect you like stripping out will either. plus your car is already the perfect colour to go with it.

I'd paid trendy tramp a deposit for a bonnet for my mk2, which I've now sold. I'm sure it doesn't have to go to waste (unless he'll give me a refund! but I doubt it as it was for materials to make the one off mould)
