Has anyone done any research into what intakes give better gains or better airflow to the carbs

Just dig out the ITB stuff.
Surely any progress gained for a better flow into the carb would be sharply demolished by the carb's intake sliders anyway?

I have Yamaha R1 carbs on my ABF, but what backing plate and what air filter is the correct one to use.(don't want single filters).

a link to the right ones would be great....spent hours looking ,but don't know the right one.
    thanks guys.
