Does anyone know what affect a failed knock sensor would have on a Digifant 8 valve? I know You can test it during the timing procedure (only advances to 20 degrees if it bad) but can you tell its failed during normal driving?

Just unplugged mine and there is 0 difference, running with V-power 99. I would have thought that the ECU would go into a "fail safe" mode and not advance as far, reducing power. Or does the digi ECU not care and just let engine pink if it can't see the knock sensor.

Or is my sensor dead and I'm not getting full power at all?

I thought it only retarded the timing when it detected knock, yiu could only test by tapping the sensor with a spanner while running?

See I thought that but then when I read that it won't advance as far when doing the timing check, it made me think that maybe it works the other way and fails safe when the sensor isn't working
