Hi,I'm about to order my main bearings for the EV engine.my question is why is there a choice of
Bearings with separate thrust for bearing 3.
Or the sided bearing for number 3 with attached thrust bearing.does it matter what one I use.thanks.

All I've looked at are an EV fitment, mine currently has separate thrust but just want to know.thanks

From memory, the block can accept either, in my experience anyway

I read on here the one with separate thrust washers is more robust.

    Always separate thrust washers!

Damaged my first WOLF R's crankshaft on these integral # 3 bearings as I later learnt they were for a 1.3.

Ok just wondered why the choice really,as the integral thrust is sold for all engines 1.3-1.8 and clearly states there are
Ok for dx,EV,pb,kr and the the rest too many too list.but as mine was separate I will stick with how it was.
Me not knowing thought the integral would be a stronger better choice.

On the subject are main bolts ok for re-use.:o

Just seen an old post from some 10 years back from toyotec with plenty of poeple mentioning these integral main/thrusts
Failing.one after just 200 miles from rebuild.so separate thrust is a must.
Thanks for any advice I may have gone the wrong route.

Without a doubt. A mate of mine wondered why his engine didn't particularly want to rev. Upon inspection the crank was scrap as well as the block. Only go for separate thrusts.

Ordered seperate thrust/mains today from herritage as well as new piston rings
Also have managed to get a mint crank no scores and never been ground.
And new big ends also.so hopefully will be tight bottom end with good compression.
Need to post some pics but can't ,due to expired paid member status can't remember how
    To renew this.... anyone[:s]

Thought the engine was a good one to rebuild due to good cylinders and no lip on bores seems it's about as good as it gets
And was possibly a low miler.put compression rings in today to size the end gap and they check out at .012 with standard
    Rings very happy.lol:p

Always use seperate thrusts. I had a steep and nasty learning curve from not using them in the past, even though all the books and suppliers said to use them!
