I get you now. The accel enrichments give you a short burst of fuel when you activate the throttle quickly. Mapdot and TPS dot are the methods of measuring how quickly you have activated the throttle. Mapdot activates accel enrichment if the MAP reading changes quicker than the set threshold value. TPSdot activates the accel enrichment if the reading of the TPS voltage changes quicker than the volts/sec setting. So by leaving it on TPSdot and setting the V/s setting to 30 you make it unlikely that you can push the throttle fast enough to activate the accel enrichments effectively turning them off.

    tps

i want to use the tpsdot as that is the best way for me to trigger the accel enrichments im thinking that they are triggering but causing a fuel dump making it bog down and run rich at throttle which would explain my black sooty plugs

im still concerned that my coolant readings in my datalogs are sticking at 101.7 even when i know mt is reading 80 i used easytherm to set up the bosch defaults so im pretty sure thats ok

i will get there im determined now i can see some light at the end of the tunnel you guys should should show em how its done on msefi

has anyone actualy managed to run a 1.8t on megasquirt not been able to find anyone even on vortex

You'll see messages saying it's adjusting a point. You'll ahve to edit the autotune values in you custom.ini file to get it to do anything though, the default values are (deliberately) useless to stop people accidentally doing silly things

    autotune

yeah just changed some values in custon ini as follows

vetable map rpm 1000 to 7600 then map 20 to 250 then ve 10 to 200

and vetable 1 map as above didnt change anything else should i

i did a test run before i changed the ini and at points it was adjusting the ve but more often than not it was tuning point out of windo:lol:

i see a big light at the end of the tunnel and it has nothing to do with that can of petrol and a match;)

    cheers
    guys

I hadn't seen this autotune malarky before. Interesting. Something new for me to play with. Is it any good?

I just read a bit about it and found this quote

    tuning

well i went for a 15 minute drive and i could see autotune doing stuff but was still unable to put load on it in 4 gear up to 2000rpm its not bad very lumpy

so im still thinking i have an issue somewhere i tried to pull away in 1st gear with a bit more load and clogged my plugs up with soot again [:x] [:x]

thoses plugs have been out so many times now

how long will it take to tune using auto tune forever:lol:

I tried it recently, wasn't overly impressed. Although to be fair I was trying it out with a very bad map on bike throttle bodies and speed-density, so it was never going to win

nothing wrong with speed density at all, but it does help if there's more than 10kpa between WOT and idle

nearly there ben! Once you have a basic fuel map (doesn't have to be that accurate) and set it to run with lots of gego adjustment autotune will sort out the map for you. I think I did about 20 runs, making small adjustments each time. Just watch it doesn't put a 'hole' in your map.

ok ive tride lots different things now i sorta grasping at straws it doesnt seem to matter how rich or lean i run it still pop and bangs under load

got this feeling in the back of my mind that its just not going run with these coilpack its stupid it will start idle ok i get lots of kickback on cranking but it still runs ok as soon as i try to blip the throttle it misses and pops

anyone got any ideas dwell is the spark strong enough ???[:^(] [:^(] [:^(] [:^(]
