Is there somewhere that still sells the improved front engine mount design for the Mk1? I think its Volksport and another place that did a very nice metal/elastic item.
Don't really want the poly nose/cup type

Just hold fire folks. I am seeing the man tomorrow who makes them. If you want rock bottom GB rates, then that'll be worthwhile.

Just looking back through the thread, there's no price expectation set.

So that we're not getting carried away, I was quoted 85 + VAT for the front mount with discount on top for 5+.

I'm not interested in being a middleman here (I already have my mounts), but if this is of use to CGTI-ers, I will set it up on the proviso it doesn't create me work once the gun's fired, aside possibly from collecting cash if it needs it to make it happen.

Folks who know what these are know that Geoff Thomas used to sell them through Autocavan as the Volksport product line.

These are hand fabricated, then plated, and they are heavy duty. The design idea originates from what you see on Group 4 Escort engine World Cup Crossmember mounts, and the people involved in the fabrication were from Gartrac. If that name goes over heads, Google it.

Count me in :thumbup:what time scale will we be looking at Chris?

I wondered why these were always referred as world cup mounts ,that explains it.
