Hi dudes, i have a 87- Golf II Gti 16v (no cat) which my grandpa and i are trying to fix. It starts easily and idles at around 1000rpm which it should. But when you start driving it starts to misfire after a couple o’ minutes when it starts to get hot. Give it three more mins and it dies. Then you have to let it rest for sum minutes like a old horse. Could it be the warm-up regulator? We have bought new dizzy cap and rotor, new spark plug cables and fuel filter. We also took of the cold start valve and let it marinate in diesel but to no avail. Anyone have any idea what could cause the symptoms?
