aha, Elsawin comes up trumps again: Passat B3/4 - 1110+-2mm between strut top centres Golf MK3 - 1116+-3mm
we after a measurement from the subframe where it bolts to the chassis, to the bolt holes on the rear engine mount bracket. i.e. we want to see exactly how high the engine will sit in relation to the chassis legs, taking into account all the differences in subframe, mount and bracket design
1H0 means first used on a MK3 type vehicle left or right hand drive, similar to 3A0 for first used on 95 MY Passat.
130mm is the height from the face the alloy engine mounting sits on the rubber mount (3 bolt type) to the front chassis mount face of the subframe. This may reduce with the weight of the engine on the mount though.
Monsieur Danstere, ze lower 2 bolts inio bracketry correspond wiv the block. If sey the alloy peg dat sitz sur la engine mount iz in a difference place, zis vil affecte the engine heit.
Bonjour, There is no difference in height or lateral position between the two types of alloy bracket from the block to the subframe engine mount. IE. The flat face of the alloy engine mounts (single bolt and 3 bolt), are in the same relative positions where they sit on their respective rubber mounts.
Merci beeekoop. Can you confirm you've got both types of bracket there? I wonder why there are 2 part numbers Revised design?
