The blue wire coming off the alternator isn't showing continuity, what gauge should the wire be? Also does it matter what connectors are used?

    Thanks

0.5mm or bigger, dont go crazy though  needs a ring terminal at the alternator and a 6.3mm spade at the car side. doesnt have to be a spade though if you change the other end to match can be whatever

So I used so thicker looking wire and connectors I found in my landladys garage and once I worked out that I missed an earth and the wire on to the lift pump she has fire for the first time in a year and a half!!! Pretty happy ☺
Another small question, where can I purchase the earth lead terminal that attaches to the gearbox? I reused the old one but it's not very good

Any independent motorfactors should be able to supply or make one.

Or if you prefer , get an earth cable from a mk3, nicer battery terminal and heavier section cable too.
