Removed remains of old front wings and started removal of waxoil.

First bit of rust, reckon it might clean up.

Internal floor flooded in waxoil but its certainly done a good job on this shell.

Started removing factory soundproofing, it has gone brittle anyway so will just use some silent coat.

Rot found so far, ive gone round the mk2 with a screwdriver and these were the only soft spots in the factory underseal.

Worst of the rot is the battery tray think this might be down to battery leak which in turn took the paint of this area.

Bit of surface on drivers inner chassis leg, this should clean up.

Today's work, rubbed down both front Inner wings for epoxy primer. Sanded with 80 grit and panel wiped about 10 times hopefully the epoxy primer will stick.

Finished removing the last bit of vw sealer from the passenger main floor pan.

Sandblasted some of rust round the jacking point stump, was going to remove it but it seems to have cleaned up well.

Washed the whole floor pan down with panel wipe, scuff pad and plenty of blue roll. Managed to get some epoxy primer on.

Done a few hours this morning, got the battery tray finished.

    Plug welds all grind'ed down.

Chassis rail close panel cut out ready for repair.

I had a piece of old chassis that came with the car so cut out what I needed. No welding pics as I just got on with It.

I will more than likely give it a light skim of filler to finish.

Had a few hours on the golf today but couldn't really get motivated.

Had a play with some seam sealer, brushed it on looked pants so of it came. I then masked up a test area then thinned some pu sealer and sprayed It, results below. Im not sure if it looks over the top.
