So i'm back on the golf again. Still stripping rubber undercoat from back end, there's lots of awkward spots so could take some time.
Big milestone today, I've officially finished removing all the vw rubber undercoat. Next Is to do a little welding and get the underside sealed and painted. Some pics of the rear boot floor underside after blasting today.
Applied some paint to the engine bay today, I had a change of heart on the colour I chose first time round. Remember the engine bay when I started this project. New colour applied. I will wet sand it then give it another finishing coat as I did get some runs. Looks grey in pics but it is blue.
Chopped some rot from passenger side rear sill wheel arch. Made up a repair piece for the inner arch and welded in. Weld primer applied ready for outer arch repair. Outer arch repair piece welded in and grinded down. Skimmed with first layer of filler, This wont need to be perfect as the outer sill will be stonechipped and the outer arch will have a cover fitted. I'll still get the repair as best as I can. Both rear arches have some dents to sort also.
Still plodding along with the golf In any spare time I get. I've let stress get the better of me over the last few weeks so progress has been slow. I'm hoping to have the underside finished by Christmas. Sandblasted the inner dash panel windscreen aperture as there was some surface rust present. Finally finished all the welding to the shell. I'm still trying to get on with the project but lost motivation the last few months. The stonechip coating I applied was cheap and came back to haunt me, I found myself being able to pick It off with my fingernail. So I removed all the stonechip, another week wasted but Tintable raptor will be applied. Started prepping internal floor a section at a time. The floor will have black raptor applied. Epoxy primed.
More prep and primer done to the floor over the last few days. Just have the rear seat base, boot floor and rear arches to prep and prime now. Prep to rest of floor and front inner bulkhead. Epoxy primed.
Boot floor, rear arches and rear seat base sanded ready for epoxy primer. Epoxy primed. Raptor bed liner applied wet on wet over primer with a 1.7 gravity gun. Raptor thinned to suit.
More progress today. Main floor scuffed another coat of epoxy primer then applied Raptor bed liner Epoxy primed. Raptor Lined.

Wow. That's amazing dedication. Well done. By the way, what's the interesting copper pipework clipped to the wall?
Had it made up to trap moisture from my compressor. It does work but you have to drain every few days depending on how much you use your compressor. Dry air is vital when sand blasting otherwise you just get frustrated by the sand getting wet and clogging gun constantly. Thanks for reading.
