Just doing some work on my MK2 ABF and have noticed I appear to be a spring and rod missing from the clutch pedal to pedal box.
Must have been gone a while as nothing in the foot well.
Car is running a 020 box with standard manual adjustable clutch cable.
Question is, do I need it and if so are parts available?...
Hopefully the links below work, which show my car and the part I'm "missing"

    Any thoughts / advice appreciated...

That helps your clutch leg, when its down takes some load off. Many cars dont have it.
You need guide 191721421, and spring 191721427.

not really needed, many didnt have it. pretty sure its only there on cars with auto adjust cable. my 1.6 with manual cable didnt have one, and after I fitted one it made bugger all difference. my gti with auto cable had one though

Makes perfect sense now, the pedal box is from a 1.6 Driver which had an auto adjusting cable, since I'm running a manually adjustable clutch cable on this setup and it works perfectly fine, I'll remove the loose bits and forget about it. Thanks
