Remind us what underbody protection you used Vinnie?
Are you after spraying the bottom yourself?
I still haven't figured out what the joke is...
OK - let's break it down - the first bit is easy "I've got" and the picture is of a piece of (it's not timber in this case it's......come on now, yes it's (starts with a "w)
"I've got w..."
Weird fascinations with old broken VWs?
Nope but I do find Vinnie's attention to detail on coating and protecting his Mk2 shell to be, how shall I put it very 'stimulating'
Hydrat 80 then raptor epoxy primer then gravitex then the colour. Yer I painted it myself.
Bloody hell Vinnie, with all that stuff it'll outlast us!
I bloody hope so update the starter motor fell on to the fuel pump so that something to add to the list. So better start looking at other external pump systems for the old girl. Any ideas would be appreciated
(Edit) sorted it mk3 tank
Sorry mate back to work next week so be on the slow again
well been waiting for parts and no show so not a lot of progress (to Sam's enjoyment ).had the starter motor fall on the fuel pump so going to put a mk3 tank in. then went to fit the custom pipes made for the car and! yep short by a mile. So as they say it comes in threes I ordered two hubs from vw heritage and only one turned up. With that I managed to get a little bit done. oh and if any one needs some steering rack boots for a mk2 you can have them just for the price of p&p also some drop links and the fuel pump used but working order might help a mk2 in need
Great stuff Vinnie - pain in the nads re: brake pipes etc. but nevertheless you're pushing on at a serious rate of knots
yeah i love this, so much effort put in and it's all done properly!
Thanks guys. When I started this I thought it was going to test me but then the rot came. But with the comments it helps us get though it.makes it more fun than a chore I think.
Jesus, stop will you!!!
Looking great tho, I’m just jealous I don’t get this much car time.
Does it make your eyes go funny being in there for a while? It’s very green?
To quote the 'great' Jeremy Clarkson - "Jealousy is a cruel mistress"
14 years waiting And the ironic thing is green if my favourite colour who would guess.
still waiting on bits to turn up. managed to get some bits done new piston kits 312mm should help to stop the old girl. Also have now fitted mk3 fuel tank
Superb work Vinnie, looks awesome.
I'll take those bits for postage if still available...
