I am indeed, well I’m looking into either baffles or foam. Seems to be contradictory information on the two

    I’ve been a bit absent but I did a thing…

    1A646F59-2850-492B-9D79-0F0BEBDF5DFD.jpeg

    and I painted a thing.

    95D8E4DD-2E9F-48AE-982A-7498EDC6BF76.jpeg

Then I assembled the thing. It’s now apart again as dad wanted the bottom end as his went bang.

I’m going to find a complete working engine to plonk in for mock ups and once the fuel cell is welded up (a work in progress) it’ll start!

It’s got some clear sticker stuff on, it just flakes off. It’ll obviously get painted

Well my monstrous manifold had a couple of cracks due to lack of support in a previous life, so I’ve had a go at welding them back up. It doesn’t look pretty but it’s penetrated and no more leaks. I’ll make some rose joint support for the turbo from the rocker cover to the turbo or something. Maybe turn something up with the lathe.

This weekend I’m picking up another engine as dad stole my bottom end because he didn’t build his engine properly. I plan to have my fuel cell built, so if all goes well, I’ll get it in, servo, pedal box and wiring in. And if I’m super good, it may actually fire for the first time!! It won’t drive as I’ve got to make the front shafts but still.

Sadly… my efforts fell short. I didn’t not even get my tank welded up.

I did however pick up my £20 AGU, whack a BAM head on for them good coil packs and bin off that ME3.8 crap. Then rebuilt it, all the way. Properly with all the bolts. And put it into the car.

    so now:

plumb up PVC &coolant. Fit Servo, pedal box, fuse box, get IC pipes in, mod for RAD + new fans. Wrap loom. Plug it in. HOPE!

Need to figure out this screen with buttons, going to have a chat with some guys at work to see if we can get it working, if not I’ll order the single screen with two buttons but I would like the brightness option

Well I made some arduino progress, who knew the screen can’t get enough power from the board. So that’s my problem, it compiles and uploads fine but not enough power!

and @dodgy got my an early Christmas present so I can wire that bad boy in.

Glad I could help, and it's a tiny bit more out of my garage. Now, if I can interest you in an oak sideboard, 2 boxes of wiring looms, full polo gti engine set up and a lovely curved mid century glass display cabinet then it would be great, and less work for me.
