Thank you Phil, my intentions when it is done is to be ragging it round tracks and B roads going through many many sets of tires ;)

Got some updates on this to post up but for now I'm struggling to decide what way to go with the arches

Tried two sets of cheap ebay bolt ons and not liking them so going to make stuff myself instead, will be more time consuming but will be worth it i hope.

Question is do I go rounded Berg Cup style arches or a more boxy look like Audi Quattro s1?
Here is my car in question as it currently sits...

And here are some pictures for inspiration that i've came across

    Berg Cup style rounded arch

I like this look a lot, looks like bolt on arch with a mk2 golf front bumper, think the bumper looks great!

    Boxy arch, Quattro/Rallye style

I don’t think the boxy Quattro style would look right because of the slanted front end on the scirocco. But I don’t like the berg style personally, I think if you could box out the front end, the Quattro style would look best imo

Manta 400? Weirdly was looking at mantas earlier.

Smith and deakin may even still do them? Or some other company I'll try and remember.

Wow Daz you certainly are the Scirocco king. I recently found your youtube vids too - great to watch. Really like the build stuff but also it was great to see the road trip with the black e30 as well.

Smith and deakin look like gone , not much on Honeybourne either.

Could go 944 style, keeping it subtle yet same stable.

    Thanks for the replies chaps!

Have offered up some Mk2 golf bumpers, think it looks pretty badass at the front but one or two things to consider, plastic would need trimmed for a better fit, mounts would need modified to suit scirocco chassis legs, double indicators etc!

Not as far on with this as I'd have hoped by now, usual life getting in the way, starting a new job, welding up my brothers mk3 for its MOT blah blah blah etc etc etc

    rusty Mk3 gti

Anyway, rwd car has been stripped and up on the spit, underside welding now complete, floor sprayed liberally in epoxy primer, seam sealed with tiger seal, engine bay next then then get it all stonechipped and painted underneath before putting it down on all 4s again

NC500 again in my daily 20vT rocco next week so will be prepping for that, general service and bolt checks underneath, must find my spare agu ignition amp and coilpacks to chuck in the boot just incase, will be covering well over 1000 miles over 7 days, wild camping in the middle of no where, can't wait!

Also, my little Mk1 is slowly developing, not sure if i've introduced it on here or not, maybe make a seperate thread for it, berg cup kit, ABF on 45s running off a nodiz pro 2, ford coilpacks, will be building this for track and hillclimb events such as Fintray hillclimb that is very very local to me, recently attended and made a little vid on it.

Plenty of pics to come, just thought i'd post this as thread has been quiet!

I like the length of the carb runners.
Very good at enhancing torque at around 4500 rpm I have found with ITBs.

I like them too however the carbs sit at the wrong angle and its impossible to close the bonnet, may look at modifying the manifold slightly so i can retain the long runners as as of couple days ago they are sitting on a standard manifold to get the bonnet shut.

long runner manifold and 45s came off a mk1 cortina running a KR in rwd form!

Not enough time in my life just now to update this in detail, will try to do so when i can!

Cars are slowly moving forward, mk1 is now running off the nodiz and 45s using a zetec coilpack and mk3 crank sensor,

RWD rocco underneath is finished and is rolling again and im doing the final bits of fab work / dry building before painting and finishing up for good, here is the latest vid !

WIth the help of a couple mates we managed to lift the car by hand off the spit and down on to some blocks, before we knew it the thing was back on the deck

Engine bay epoxy primed and painted on the lower section, will be making a new subframe soon, one that will handle more beef

    [IMG] upload_2022-9-25_21-17-12.gif

cheap ebay fuel cell fitted in the boot, swirl pot, bosch 044, facet lift pump, should be a good setup for track use. I've since modified it to take a better fuel sender than the one it comes with so i can run a decent gauge

exhaust i made up has now been fully tig welded by a mate of mine, 80mm off the snail then 3" all the way to the side exit, tight squeeze but it clears, looking forward to hearing it

    [IMG] upload_2022-9-25_21-17-12.gif

    [IMG] upload_2022-9-25_21-17-12.gif

Made up my own custom bonnet hinges using a set of mk2 golf ones, shaped weird to clear the cage as the bonnet goes down, made a jig from the oem hinge so I wouldnt lose the standard geometry, worked out well in the end

    [IMG] upload_2022-9-25_21-17-12.gif

Bonnet pins in place now too, quite a process getting everything in the exact spot but chuffed with the outcome

    [IMG] upload_2022-9-25_21-17-12.gif

Currently finishing up the final dry build, so engine is back in, all coolant pipes are in and hooked up, all brackets etc are fabbed up for holding things like coolant bottle etc.

All fuel lines are in, battery wiring to the boot is made up, need to order up brake lines etc, hydro is mounted to the tunnel for pulling skids, working on making an alloy switch panel and gauge panel for the dash, being modifying the dash to create my own heater system using a compact 12v unit from car builder solutions, very fiddly but hopefully be worth it. This will allow me to demist the windscreen easily if needed when on track and also put a bit of heat in the cabin for winter use.

Just loads and loads of small jobs to do. Need to find a nice digidash that will work off of canBUS from the emerald as the original rocco clocks are no longer an option.

Flywheel is sent away to CG motorsports to get a clutch kit made up that should be able to handle 400 lbs ft

More updates to come, hoping to plough on and have it painted this year, ready to rebuild and finish for spring, im turning 26 in January and would love to be driving it by then as a treat to myself... but truth be told it will be done when its done!
