I used to build 1.8t and played about with my 2.8 4motion. So when I picked up a very clean inside and out, 03 mk4 golf 1.4 16v 77k, every mot, service and parts on paper, i did want to use it for a conversion, i wasnt expecting what great fun the 1.4 was to drive.
So I've Just picked up the polo 1.6 gti inlet manifold, throttle and got the injectors too to stick in it.
Without having a look, what are the differences piping, plugs the etc?
Going to hopefully change over tomorrow if it's a plug and play?

Cheers mate. I found loads of parts for this wee engine, I might never do a conversation to a 1.8t. Might have to turbo it though.

Will do. Spent the night looking for pictures to see where the hoses go on the new inlet manifold and throttle body. And after ripping off the egr pipe, I find the blanking plate was too long and not wide enough.
Its always the last thing that goes wrong.

The only thing I haven't fitted is the polo gti fuel injectors. Can I still run the car without a remap if I fitted them?

Really can't afford a remap anymore due to not being able to work anymore.

if the new injectors give you more flow then you'll need a remap to go with it really

Would fitting the 1.4 85bhp ecu or the 1.6 ecu work better with the larger intake manifold, intake and injectors?

If that's the ecu matching those, can't see why the 1.6 one wouldn't be better.
