    Hi all
I have a 2002 mk4 2.0 gti on the way home tonight reversed onto the drive noticed have no brake lights not even high level,so not bulbs, would it be a fuse? Or from what I can see the brake light switch? Had a look on internet from what I can see it can be taken off and cleaned? Not done it before (red face considering some of the builds on here).
    Thanks
    Jeff

Brake switch is a common fail point, I'd replace it...

Thank you,I'm at work tomorrow morning and Sunday, dont think they are expensive to buy is it a case of unplugging the connector and replacing the switch? Sorry for the silly questions.

It's been a long time since I changed one on a mk4, but it's usually not a difficult job, sometimes they are held in with nuts, others are held in with a push/turn type.
Just make sure the brake lights are not on when the pedal is at rest.
