Is there much weight to be gained with a composite roof?

I'm doing a mk1 at the minute and I can't see there being much weight to save if any. The roof skin is thin and I've cut the cut supports out.

This what the MSA have said.

Hi Alex, There is no restriction in Circuit Racing, however we suggest you check your championship regulations as they may further restrict. For Sprint and Hill Climb events, regulations S11.4.1 and S12.5.2 prohibit changing the material of the roof panel in the Roadgoing Series Production and Modified Series Production categories. Kind regards,
