Been collecting and ordering parts now since the begining of this year and have accumulated quite a bit of stuff now. Since i've finally finished university i've now got pleanty of time to spend on the car which i've been waiting soooooo long for. The aim is to have it ready for inters.

Heres the before pics complete with 16 years of crap.

Its booked in for steam cleaning tomorrow at 9:30. The guy puts the car on a ramp to do the underside of the engine, charges 20.50 which i thought was pretty reasonable.

My 16vT- Updated 16/08/09- New wheels

Right, just got back from steam cleaning and what a massive difference. I was worried that if i turn the engine off that it would have problems starting again but it was fine. Think you can see the difference:

First time i've had chance to look at the cams and considering they've done 111k turbo'd miles they were in mint condition :)

It looked really good after the steam clean, I think I'd have left it there! :p
What are you plans with it?

I would have loved to have left it at that, would be a lot easier (and cheaper!). My plans:

Full samco hoses including heater and turbo pipework
    Stealth inlet manifold
    Extra four injectors
    Braided fuel lines
    Drill airbox
    Chump valve
    New boost pipework
Change anything that looks like its in oits way out.

Then its off to Stealth to have the k-star fitted and setup.

    :)

Put everything back together yesterday and it started first time [:D]

Had a few problems. The alterator sat too high high so i used a shorter belt but changing it was a bit tricky since i had to take the PAS pump off. A couple of rounded bolts etc and had had to wait quite a while for some bits to be powder coated. Quite glad i had to wait for a few parts since it gave me a chance to polish a few bits. I also re-routed all of the wiring on top of the chassis legs through the chassi legs.

The water flange fouled on the injectors on the stealth inlet manifold so ^neo^ came to the rescue (cheers mate) and whipped me up one of these:

    So here it is

I did want to have it set up for inters but Vince is quite busy at the moment so it will be a while till its running properly. I'll be down Ace Cafe this month though.

Took the car to Stealth today to have the k-star fitted and set up. Vince gave me a fright at first and told me that it couldn't me done as the k-star wouldn't run the extra injectors. Turned out that it was off the first 8 injector set up that they did and that the internals of the k-star had been modified.

So, all was well. Came back about 3 hours later and whilst in the waiting room heard "stop the engine, its knocking!" Out come Vince with the bad news . . . . its dead [:^(] [:^(] [:^(] .

Don't know for sure yet as the engine hasn't been stripped but its most likely the crankshaft where some dodgy work had been done on it previously.
