The tear down begins..... The next step was to remove every component bolted to the body

I decided to attack the underside first, as this would enable me to practice some welding!!
The first mission was to roll it it on its side

some surface rust on rear chassis legs

Underseal was removed using a knotted wire brush on an angle grinder and paint thinners

    Looking good :)

Is it ok to put it on its side as long as its supported on a matress then?

I have stripped mine down to almost a bare shell and was considering rolling it over but was not sure if it was safe to do without a frame attached to the chassis.

How did you roll it? Can you roll it easy enough with a couple of extra hands helping?

Two of us could lift the shell in this condition !

I had the chassis on some dolly type wheels, literally rolled the car to the edge of the matress, three of us just rolled it on its side carefully, then just tied it to the roof of the shelter.

Didn't get any damage to bodywork at all !! just a couple of scratches on the paintwork which polished out !

Where did you attach the dolly wheels to the chassis? I thought about sitting the shell on a pallet with dolly wheels attached to that and then flipping it.

How long did it take you to do the underseal removal on the underside and im guessing you might have seamwelded it as well??

I have removed the underseal from the inner wings and stripped it to bare shell and am at a bit of a crunch point wheteher I will actually do the underneath! I need it back together by April and the original plan was just to paint the bay really!

Any chance of more pics Infinity?

i used dolly wheels on a pallet, i didn't attach them to the chassis!

the underseal took approx 4 days thats including the arches, i seamed any panels that were butted together,

i removed approx 10kg of underseal from mine, [:D]
