    Hi All,

I've been out of the scene for a very long time, and my mk2 golf is now rotting away. I'm going to try and put it back together and get it running again so that someone else can do something with it.

I've got these mystery interior panels from under the dash/carpet and I have no idea where they're meant to fit:

I know the more complex one goes behind the centre console, but no idea where the other 2 go.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

Top one goes on the side (rhs?) of the heater box, to stop hot water boiling your legs, if the matrix bursts.

Middle one is the piece at the back of the carpet, where the kick panel beside the accelerator pedal is.

Lower one looks like the air direction piece from the bottom of the heater box, to the heating vents in the centre console

Thanks so much for your speedy response.

Does the top one somehow fix in place (forming a barrier) before the center console goes back in then? Does the air direction piece have to go in first?

This bad boy also has velcro on the bottom, but nowhere to actually attach the velcro to... Any ideas?

    OK thanks.

I can't for the life of me work out how that top panel is meant to fix in. It doesn't seem to fit in any orientation I try...

    It's going here right?

That leg burning prevention panel is such an afterthought isn’t it? VW knew their Matrix would burst but rather than fix the issue they bodged it, along with the diverter valves.

That's mad! I've never heard about that before.

Thanks for all the input ppl, managed to get it all just about back together (a good amount of screws and bits left over though!)
