Well today we part exchanged the BMW estate, gone back to vag stable and decided on a mk3 Leon estate, FR diesel.
Pretty nice car, much nicer than the 3 series in my opinion, and Mrs Dodgy is happy to drive it as not got dark privacy glass.
Few upgrades will probably be in the pipeline, watch this space.

    Yes, 6 speed manual.
Not sure of difference between old 1.9 and these 2 litre diesel engines, but it would be mad in a mk2.

Very nice Sir Dodgy, how much did it set you back if you don’t mind me asking?

    I’d much rather this!!

I second the nice. I don't know if it's old news, but ever since I saw a rear subframe harmonic balancer for 2WDs by chance. It's the first thing I'd do.

6495 was the asking price, 101k miles, fish.
Looked at golf estate too, but seemed to be higher mileage and more expensive and slightly less spec.
    Very pleased.
Thing is now my good lady is looking at changing her daily to a vw up, or badge engineered version, could be an expensive week!

Going to say I'm unsure of this, off to Google it now.

Had a look, may well cut the road noise, will look for one at a sensible price, 95 on ebay, I'll keep eye out.

Congrats on the new car! I'm sure you and Mrs Dodgy will have a lot of fun with it! Sounds like you made a wise choice going back to the VW family with the Leon FR diesel. I agree that the privacy glass can be a bit of a pain, especially if it impedes visibility. An FR diesel? That's a nice choice. I'm sure you'll have no issues with the car transport cost, it's a pretty efficient ride, plus with the upgrades you'll be doing to it, it'll be a real head-turner! I'm sure you'll make some great memories with it. I'd love to see pics when you've got it all set up! Take care and enjoy your new ride!

Two years too late but never mind or is this just weird spam?

Can't believe it's 2 years, and did seem a bit of a reboot for the post.
