Just limit it to non 8v's mind as we wouldn't want the torque to rip it back out .

    Nice updates Bill

    christened the dyno today

    hehe
    went ok.
golf 3 8v supercharged on it.. seemed ok, planted on rollers - 148bhp, 150lbft and sweet 12:1 afr on full load, which i was chuffed with after only mapping it on the m5 so far. :)
    playing with settings
    lots to learn.

lupo was too low, so will mod dyno tomorrow and try again.

tufftys s3 went on for a few runs also, playing with ramp rates for higher powered cars was interesting. some evidence of wheelspin, but nothing which upset the dyno it seems.. dyno can hold the gt30 easily, when holding loads.

    more manual to read :)

awesome to see it running finally

big 600mm diameter 1442rpm fan arrived today which i need to wire up to 3phase and check out how to wire it to 2 speed  somehow.

car ride height is a factor

    gt30 s3

i was settling on mrsB lupo this after noon, after modding the dyno slightly. exhaust clearance was achieved easily, but it would'nt sit right or steer nice on the rollers, so checked tyre presures and ride height, and saw the nsf shock had burst, oozing oil.. so ended up reverting the lupo back onto its bilstein/eibach fronts ( replaced its rear shocks for its old billies, after one of its cheap vmaxx shocks had also leaked only on friday ) - so ride height is higher now anyhows, and adjusted up the rear ride height on its rear coilies so its sat level. I ran out of inclination tonight to play with it on the rollers again, so will resume tomorrow. it should sit fine now.

i may play with the dyno's installed height also tomorrow, to lift it a little more out of the ground.
pros and cons of excessively low cars, with additional lcr splitters on them running smaller wheels.. balancing act of rollers which sit low enough to retain traction vs those which perch on the top, and ride heights. more maunal to read tonight..

large fan to wire in next and work out how to 2 speed it.. hopefully good to go for fitment and craigs training on its use. floor plate tie downs arrived which i will bolt into the floor tomorrow also..

    getting there now

on an industrial estate, with a 24/7 Dairy Crest plant close by which thunders tankers all hours of the day.. I dont expect to have any problems when I am likely to be running the dyno heavily.

    never say never of course.

    :)

would be a good crack me thinks..
its not operational to folks as such until I am comfortable with it...

but... if you dont have huge expectations, I am sure we could have a play on the day on it. :)

    hi

wired the fan last night using 2U,2V,2W connections, fan ran but did'nt seem to be fast.. not 1440 rpm.. probably half that

wired the fan onto the 1U,1V,1W connections and it ran reversed, but same speed

    got stuck now.
