Hi All, having taken delivery of my new GTI i have a problem with the key part of the key. The key fob works fine, infact it is like new but the metal key part which flips out is a bit bent meaning it does not work. Is it possible just to get that part replaced?

    Thanks.

I got one off e-bay a while back and the guy cut it from a photo.

To fit it I knocked out a pin near the hinge, removed the old and fitted new. That was on a Mk4.

timpsons up here won't do them give me some flannel about coating on vw keys being too hard will only use their own blanks
yet the local security place did them no problem

i've had a few flip keys off ebay and had them cut i code them for people
you can just swap the bits over to the old case if you don't think you can get the pin out or just get a blade like Iain
the immobilizer chip is bonded into the case don't try to remove it as it will end in tears
