Morning all, just got this delivered.

8 previous owners, couple of owner club stickers, bound to be someone on here?

    Welcome!

What does it need? It looks a pretty tidy car.

Plenty to get stuck into then!

Get yourself a thread up and take some pictures along the way!

Hi, I realise this thread is nearly 18 months old but I owned G439 LWR between September 2008 & July 2016. When I bought it I repaired the filler cap back area & the front o/s scuttle, as well as welding in a patch on the o/s rear sill. Tbh I didn't intend to keep it that long and intended to improve it over time, but ended it using it as a daily driver for 7 years (long story).

It did deteriorate in that time & always ran a bit rough, burning oil & eventually only running on 3 cylinders, which me or my tame garage guy couldn't get to the bottom of. I parked it up to work on it & some pond life decided to break into it & wreck the steering column, so at that point I effectively weighed it in for £250 (I no longer had the time, space or gear to fix it properly).

I fitted a CD player back in 2010 & did various improvements over the years. It got a whack up the backside in 2012 from an uninsured texting Toyota driver so needed a new bumper & brackets, which I never got road to fixing.

I still have a load of receipts for it somewhere going back to the early '90's if you are interested.

Hope the resto is going well!

    Will

Hi Will, yes I'm still about and so is the golf. Not much progress tbh as it needs a thorough going over and other family duties got in the way...

Will I would be interested in getting the documents off you if possible? I can't see an option to DM you?
