Not sure why the pictures aren't working in your last post Rob will see if I can't fix it later It strange they show in the edit plane hmm
Got a few more bolt-ons to go on before next event so hopefully that will see the car going quicker again
Interesting comment last weekend from chap running MX5 with Extreme Tyres. He sent his own carcasses to Germany to be remoulded so he knew what tyres they were based on. Marked them up 'secretly' and got back the tyres he sent so seems legit. That might be the way to do this but it seems an awful lot of hassle. The compounds do seem very very soft though - the wet compound on a VR1 tread pattern was like chewing gum. Was quite impressed with the R888R though to be honest, and at least at fairly good tread depth they are fine in wet conditions (at least they are on a 4wd car).
It seems to be lifting the inside rear wheel quite a bit looking at the pictures. In the one closeup picture of you in the wet you can see the width of the tyre tracks left by the tyres and the inside track is a lot narrower than the outside one. Is it spinning up the inside rear wheel though causing traction control to cut in. The ESP system may still be working even when turned off with the switch in the car. Disconnecting a sensor such as the steering wheel angle sensor should fully disable the ESP and hopefully not affect the speed of the car.
On a saloon car there is always going to be some appreciable roll in the corners so that tyre effect is unavoidable. At least the inside wheel was still actually on the floor..... I think the tcs is affected by sharp steering inputs so we will see if this changes with tcs switched off before doing anything more drastic.

Great day at Aintree yesterday for Liverpool Motor Club Spring Sprint. LMC run a superb event and really do set the standard in sprint event logistics. Weather was changeable forecast all week but as weekend got closer looked like it would just stay dry long enough. We were entered in Class 1E Road Modified Sportscars, over 2L. For a change there was a good entry in class with 6 cars in total: us, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, 3L BMW Z4, RX7, TVR, 350Z. Aston had a GWR supercharger kit on it and was rumored to be making 600hp so that should be a challenge. First time at Aintree with new car so plenty to learn. Target times were: Class record holder 911 (996) 3.6 Turbo, set in 2014, 2.32/31.40/48.96/132mph 2017 Winner 3.4L Cayman S, 50.80 Best I ever did in Ibiza, 2.53/50.75 Times are 64ft, Bechers split, finish and mph over finish. P1, 2.83/?/51.29/135 Took it easy to check circuit out and found it was quite slippery P2, 3.02/?/51.53/134 Messed up start and first bend, wrong gear, cross with myself Time to sort my shit out. T1. 2.07/?/49.09/141 Used launch control and attaked corners more. Good run. Lunch. T2. 1.99/30.9/48.18/140 Cracking run. Smashed class record by 8 tenths and broke 2sec barrier to 64ft. T3 slower as frankly didnt care less lol So new record at first time new car to Aintree and class win. So much for TTs being hairdressers cars eh.... Other times were Aston, 52.89 RX7, 55.13 TVR, 56.37 Z4, 56.59 350Z, 57.61 Beat Aston by 4.71 secs so that will be a pile of championship points. Awesome day. A few pics: Aston V12 Vantage S Aston Vantage GT4 Supercharged Vantage and RX7 Phillip House Beetle FTD John Graham Gould GR55B Empire Evo2 with biggest diffuser I have yet seen on a sprinter
Results are up: http://www.liverpoolmotorclub.com/2...-the-april-2018-aintree-sprint-now-available/ Waiting for update on Liverpool Champs but gone to top of ANWCC overall table
Great showing Rob. With some more development and seat time nobody is going to be any where near you in that class. Not that they are at the moment anyway. I always tell people that it's the convertible TT that's the hairdressers car. One of the guys on the TT forum who tracks his Mk1 TT has some custom stickers on his.
