that looks like power feed for fog lamp switch, if so you only need to use it if you have factory fitted front fogs as it powers up the fog lamp relay. for rear only fogs the fog switch wire goes to M/1 instead. Certainly if the rear fog lamp works then I wouldn't worry about it, and this wire wont have any relation to the oil warning system unfortunately
